Verifone® recommends the battery for the Ruby be changed every three (3) years when servicing the site. The life expectancy of the internal battery in the Verifone® Ruby will vary due to the environmental conditions existing at any install location. Battery replacement should be treated as a preventative maintenance item. Replacing this battery will reduce the risk of data loss, including any totals, operational programming and Ruby application upon the loss of power to the system. Even a system restart or reboot with an ineffective battery could result in complete data loss and store downtime.
