Verifone® recommends the battery for the Sapphire Site Controller be changed every two (2) years when servicing the site. The life expectancy of the internal battery in the Verifone® Sapphire Site Controller will vary due to the environmental conditions existing at any install location. These conditions include, but are not limited to, electrical conditions. Battery replacement should be treated as a preventative maintenance item. Replacing this battery will reduce the risk of data loss, including any totals, operational programming and Sapphire application upon the loss of power to the system. Even a system restart or reboot with an ineffective battery could result in complete data loss and store downtime.
